Our Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 07/09/2026
Welcome to House of Definura. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website, your purchase of our products, and your interaction with our retail, wholesale, Made on Order, and bespoke services.
By accessing or using our website, placing an order, or purchasing any product from House of Definura, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our website or placing an order.
1. ABOUT HOUSE OF DEFINURA
House of Definura is a Nigerian luxury fashion brand rooted in Lagos and dedicated to redefining African fashion through contemporary design, heritage textiles, original artistry, and thoughtful craftsmanship.
Our collections may feature fabrics and materials including hand-woven Aso Oke, Adire, Ankara, Kampala and other African textiles. Selected garments may also incorporate original hand-painted artwork.
We offer retail shopping, wholesale opportunities, Made on Order and bespoke services, size guidance, and client support throughout the ordering process.
2. USE OF OUR WEBSITE
By using this website, you agree that:
- You will use the website only for lawful purposes.
- You will provide accurate and complete information when placing an order or contacting us.
- You will not attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the website.
- You will not reproduce, copy, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit our website content without our written permission.
- You will not use our website to engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the website where we reasonably believe that these Terms have been violated.
3. PRODUCTS AND PRODUCT INFORMATION
We make every reasonable effort to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, colours, measurements, prices, and other information displayed on our website are accurate.
However, customers should understand that certain Definura products are made using natural, hand-woven, hand-dyed, or individually crafted materials. As a result, variations in texture, colour, pattern placement, weave, and finish may occur.
Such variations are part of the character and individuality of African textiles and handcrafted fashion and should not necessarily be regarded as defects.
Where a product incorporates original hand-painted artwork, no two pieces may be exactly identical.
Our product imagery may also be affected by photography, lighting, camera settings, and the display settings of your device. Therefore, colours may appear slightly different from the actual product.
4. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
All products displayed on our website are subject to availability.
We reserve the right to:
- Limit the quantity of products available for purchase.
- Discontinue products or collections.
- Change product designs, materials, or specifications where reasonably necessary.
- Correct errors in product descriptions, availability, or pricing.
If you place an order for a product that is subsequently found to be unavailable, we will contact you and provide an appropriate resolution.
5. PRICES
All prices displayed on the website are stated in the currency shown at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, prices do not necessarily include applicable delivery charges, taxes, duties, customs charges, or other costs that may arise from international delivery.
Where additional charges apply, the customer is responsible for reviewing the applicable charges before completing an order.
House of Definura reserves the right to change product prices at any time. A price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted, except where an obvious pricing or technical error has occurred.
6. ORDERS
When you place an order through our website, you are making a request to purchase the selected products.
An order confirmation may be sent to the email address or contact information provided during checkout.
An order is considered accepted only when House of Definura confirms acceptance of the order.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where:
- A product is unavailable.
- There is an obvious pricing or product information error.
- We are unable to verify the information provided.
- We reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity.
- Circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent us from fulfilling the order.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, the applicable payment will be refunded through the appropriate payment method.
7. MADE ON ORDER & BESPOKE PRODUCTS
House of Definura offers Made on Order and bespoke services through which garments may be created according to a customer’s measurements, style preferences, and selected fabric.
Because these garments are created specifically for individual customers:
- Customers are responsible for providing accurate measurements and information.
- Customers should carefully review all specifications before confirming an order.
- Bespoke garments may differ slightly from reference images because of fabric characteristics, construction requirements, or the handmade nature of the garment.
- Changes to an order after production has commenced may not always be possible.
- Additional charges may apply where a customer requests changes outside the original agreed specifications.
8. MEASUREMENTS AND SIZE GUIDANCE
We provide size guidance to help customers select an appropriate size.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the available size information and providing accurate measurements where required.
For Made on Order or bespoke garments, customers should ensure that measurements supplied to House of Definura are accurate.
Where a garment has been made according to measurements supplied by the customer, House of Definura may not be responsible for an incorrect fit resulting from inaccurate measurements supplied by the customer.
Where you are uncertain about your size or measurements, we encourage you to contact our client support team before placing your order.
9. WHOLESALE ORDERS
House of Definura offers wholesale opportunities for businesses interested in stocking its products.
Wholesale orders may be subject to different:
- Minimum order quantities
- Prices
- Payment requirements
- Production timelines
- Delivery arrangements
- Cancellation terms
These terms will be communicated and agreed with the wholesale customer before the order is confirmed.
Where a separate written wholesale agreement exists, that agreement will take precedence over these general Terms & Conditions to the extent of any conflict.
10. PAYMENT
Customers must provide valid and accurate payment information when placing an order.
Payment must be successfully received before an order is processed, unless alternative payment terms have been expressly agreed in writing.
House of Definura does not knowingly retain sensitive payment-card information beyond what is necessary for authorised payment processing and legitimate transaction records.
If a payment is reversed, declined, disputed, or otherwise unsuccessful, we may suspend or cancel the associated order.
11. DELIVERY
House of Definura provides client support from order placement through delivery.
Delivery times may vary depending on:
- Product availability
- Whether the item is ready-to-wear or Made on Order
- Bespoke requirements
- Destination
- Courier availability
- Customs or other circumstances outside our control
Estimated delivery periods provided by House of Definura are estimates and may not constitute guaranteed delivery dates unless expressly stated otherwise.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and contact information.
Where a delivery cannot be completed because incorrect or incomplete information was supplied by the customer, additional delivery charges may apply.
12. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
Customers purchasing from outside Nigeria acknowledge that international deliveries may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, clearance fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, such charges are the responsibility of the customer.
House of Definura cannot guarantee the amount of customs or import charges imposed by a destination country’s authorities.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the products ordered are permitted to be imported into their destination country.
13. RETURNS, EXCHANGES AND REFUNDS
Because House of Definura offers both ready-to-wear and Made on Order/bespoke garments, different return conditions may apply to different products.
Ready-to-wear products may be eligible for return or exchange subject to the applicable return policy displayed on the website or communicated at the time of purchase.
Made on Order and bespoke garments may be subject to different restrictions because they are created specifically for an individual customer.
Products returned for an eligible return must generally be:
- Unworn
- Unwashed
- Undamaged
- In their original condition
- Returned with applicable packaging and tags where provided
Products that have been worn, altered, washed, damaged, or otherwise used may not qualify for a return.
14. DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS
If you receive an item that appears to be damaged, defective, or materially different from what you ordered, please contact House of Definura as soon as reasonably possible.
We may request:
- Your order number
- Photographs or videos of the item
- Photographs of the packaging
- A description of the issue
We will review the matter and determine the appropriate resolution in accordance with the applicable circumstances and your legal rights.
Customers should not return an item without first contacting us where our return process requires prior approval.
15. HANDCRAFTED AND TEXTILE VARIATIONS
African heritage textiles often contain distinctive variations in weave, colour, texture, pattern, and finish.
House of Definura specifically works with heritage materials including hand-woven Aso Oke and other African textiles.
These characteristics may mean that the final garment does not look completely identical to another garment made from a similar fabric.
Such variations may be considered part of the uniqueness and authenticity of the material.
